Phil Elkins - Director
Veterinarian, bovine tuberculosis project manager for Westpoint Veterinary Group and practising Official Veterinarian of 9 years’ experience. Main area of expertise is in the practical provision of high quality services in an on-farm setting, understanding the challenges that face both the client and the servicing OV. Responsible for the national coordination of the training, both official and in-house, and delivery of bTB testing for over 50 vets.
Jason Aldiss - Director
A veterinarian who has specialised in the delivery of Official Controls for over 20 years. Jason has worked on numerous consultancy projects and delivered a wide variety of specialist veterinary regulatory services across Europe in the veterinary public health field for many years and is well recognised for his work in this broad specialist field.
He is Secretary General of the Union of European Veterinary Hygienists, Past President of the Veterinary Public Health Association, a past Board member of the British Veterinary Association, and was previously a member of the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs, and Managing Director of Eville & Jones Ltd.
Rob Jones - Director
Chairman of the world’s largest provider of private Official Veterinary Controls. As a founder of this company and three other successful veterinary companies Rob is a recognised entrepreneur with a proven track record of establishing and operating high-quality, specialist and successful operations both within the UK and abroad.
With a suite of specialist skills, Rob’s expertise includes veterinary business establishment, delivering of specialist veterinary services in the regulatory field, companion animal business management and operational delivery including clinic and facility design.
Jon Stanford - Director
A qualified Environmental Health Officer with over 20-years’ experience in public health and legislative compliance, both within the public and private sector.
With previous experience in risk management, he has successfully undertaken a wide range of audit, enforcement and training roles. Areas of expertise include the implementation of HACCP and quality management systems in food processing environments, and the delivery of ISO17020 within an Inspection Body.
Duncan Garfield - Director
A qualified Engineer with almost 20-years’ experience as a business analyst and management information system manager with a keen ability to focus on an organisation’s information systems. With expertise in analysing business problems and then designing and maintaining solutions in a range of differing environments.
Matt Dobbs - Director
Matt Dobbs is a farm vet, known for driving innovative approaches to health, welfare and production issues on livestock farms. Matt holds a number of industry positions that bring significant experience to Xperior Farm Health and the new businesses role in helping eradicate bovine TB from the UK. He is an independent vet on TB England Action Group, bringing governance to national TB policy. His roles on the England Council of Lantra and as honorary lecturer at both the Royal Veterinary College and the University of Surrey ensure that policy is grounded in science and engages the whole breadth of the livestock industry. His commitment to livestock agriculture in the UK has been recognised through a Nuffield Scholarship, the Bullock Award for Innovation in Agriculture and the Queens award for Award for services to Agriculture.
Matt is the Managing Director at Westpoint Veterinary Group and has experience in delivering disease eradication programmes for producers, first purchasers and retailers, both in the UK and around the world. Matt’s empathetic approach to an industry stricken by TB is matched by his resolution to deliver a high quality testing service, sympathetic to cattle keepers needs.
Paul Hawkes - Finance Director
Paul is financial director at Westpoint Veterinary Group. He has had significant experience of working with a variety of businesses in multiple sectors, assisting in the shaping and delivery of the key strategic initiatives from various board level appointments. Paul has worked with international corporate entities, including the likes of Zodiac Aerospace and TUI Travel PLC, focusing on running discreet businesses within the group, improving and demonstrating their financial performance, driving operational efficiency and driving growth initiatives. Having spent in excess of 15 years working on various corporate acquisitions, Paul brings the experience to assist with growing the business and ensuring that the investment now made available to Westpoint can be put to its most effective use. Paul has a degree in Applied Biological Sciences from Exeter before gaining his professional chartered accountancy qualification.
